US-190, TEXAS — A major accident has forced a full closure of both eastbound and westbound lanes on US-190 near Mile Marker 838, spanning from 0.22 miles to 1.39 miles west of PR 0048N. All travel lanes are currently blocked, creating heavy delays for traffic moving through the corridor.
Emergency response teams and roadway maintenance personnel are currently on-site managing the scene and coordinating recovery operations. There is currently no designated TxDOT detour in place for the closure zone.
First responders initially closed the highway at approximately 5:08 a.m. on October 25. TxDOT anticipates that the roadway closure and active cleanup will remain in effect through approximately 12:15 p.m. on October 26.
Motorists, dispatchers, and commercial carriers are advised to plan alternate routes well in advance and prepare for extended travel times around the area. We will update this report as more information becomes available.
