UPDATE: ROAD REOPENED - October 25, 2026 11:05 AM UTC All eastbound lanes on SH-99 near 4.384 miles west of FM-1314 have reopened following an earlier accident.
EASTBOUND SH-99, TEXAS — All eastbound main lanes of State Highway 99 are completely closed near 4.4 miles west of FM-1314 following a traffic accident. The closure affects traffic between mile markers 0746 and 0744, resulting in heavy travel delays through the corridor.
Emergency personnel and incident clearance teams are on scene working to mitigate the blockage. No official detour has been designated, and TxDOT advises that travel along this stretch is strongly discouraged while the roadway remains blocked.
Crews estimate the incident will be cleared by approximately 6:00 a.m., though reopening times remain subject to change depending on ongoing recovery efforts.
Motorists and commercial fleet operators are advised to avoid the corridor and seek alternate eastbound routes. We will update this report as new information becomes available.
