UPDATE: ROAD REOPENED - October 25, 2026 10:20 AM UTC Eastbound I-10 has reopened to traffic west of FM-2316 following an earlier closure.
EASTBOUND I-10, TEXAS — All eastbound main lanes on Interstate 10 are completely closed near FM-2316 at Mile Marker 27 following a severe traffic incident reported early Sunday morning. The shutdown affects traffic between 0.8 and 1.5 miles west of FM-2316, blocking all primary travel lanes.
Emergency personnel and highway maintenance crews are on scene managing traffic and working to clear the roadway. An active detour has been implemented to divert eastbound vehicles around the closure point.
TxDOT estimates that the closure and clearance operations will extend until approximately 5:15 AM, though lane restoration may vary based on conditions at the scene.
Drivers and freight dispatchers should seek alternate routes to bypass the closure and prepare for extended delays in the immediate corridor. We will update this report as further details or lane reopenings are confirmed.
