UPDATE: ROAD REOPENED - October 25, 2026 11:05 AM UTC All eastbound lanes on SH-99 near 4.384 miles west of FM-1314 have reopened following an earlier accident.
EASTBOUND SH-99, TEXAS — A major traffic accident has forced the closure of all eastbound main lanes on SH-99 approximately 4.4 miles west of FM-1314. The blockage spans from mile marker 0746 to mile marker 0744, bringing eastbound traffic to an immediate standstill and prompting high-severity traffic alerts.
Emergency response units and road clearance personnel are currently on the scene working to secure the area and clear the wreckage. TxDOT reports that no official detour route has been designated, and travel through this segment of the corridor is strongly discouraged.
Traffic delays are mounting as crews conduct cleanup operations across the closed lanes. Officials currently project the roadway will remain blocked until approximately 6:00 a.m., though recovery timelines may adjust based on scene conditions.
Commercial truck drivers and dispatchers routing through the area should divert to alternative east-west routes to prevent lengthy delays. We will update this report as soon as more details become available or lanes reopen.
