RM-2222, TEXAS — Northbound and southbound lanes along RM-2222 and Spur 69 near US-290 are experiencing severe delays and active detours due to dangerous winter weather conditions. Heavy ice on the roadway and dangerous black ice have escalated conditions to a maximum severity alert at mile marker 0538.
TxDOT crews are actively on-site patrolling the corridor and plowing the roadway. In addition to slick pavement, blowing snow is causing dangerously low visibility across both directions of travel.
Due to the extensive treatment required and severe winter conditions, the impact on this corridor is currently estimated to extend through July 30, 2027, at approximately 4:45 PM, though conditions may adjust as operations progress.
Drivers and fleet dispatchers are strongly discouraged from traveling through the area and should seek alternate routes or hold transit. We will update this report as TxDOT releases further updates.
