FM 2304, TEXAS — Severe winter conditions have created hazardous driving conditions and prompted detours in both directions on FM 2304 in Travis County. The affected corridor extends from 0.881 miles north of FM 1626 to just north of Manchaca Road, between mile markers 0448 and 0444. Black ice on the roadway and low visibility from blowing snow have made travel extremely dangerous throughout this stretch.
Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) winter maintenance teams are deployed in the area, actively patrolling and plowing the affected lanes. Designated detours are in place to divert traffic away from the most severely impacted segments while treatment operations continue.
TxDOT indicates that incident operations and roadway monitoring are currently projected to persist through July 30, 2027, at 4:45 PM, subject to ongoing weather and pavement assessments.
Commercial operators and motorists are strongly advised to avoid the corridor and seek alternate routes, as travel remains heavily discouraged due to ice. We will update this report as new information becomes available.
