TxDOT personnel are actively patrolling the corridor and running plows to treat and clear the roadway surface. Official traffic detours have been put in place to divert vehicles around the hazardous corridor.
TxDOT operational estimates indicate extended hazardous conditions and monitoring along this stretch, with the current weather event management window active through July 30, 2027.
Travel through this corridor is strongly discouraged due to extreme black ice hazards. Motorists and commercial drivers in the area must exercise extreme caution, anticipate major delays, and obey all posted detour signage.
