EAST AND WESTBOUND FM 1327, TEXAS — Hazardous winter road conditions have triggered major delays and active detours along both eastbound and westbound FM 1327 in Travis County. The impacted area extends from US-183 (Mile Marker 0538) to approximately 470 feet west of SH-45 (Mile Marker 0532), where roadway icing and low visibility have resulted in a maximum severity travel alert.
Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) personnel are actively patrolling the route and conducting plowing operations. Roadway surfaces are impacted by black ice, and blowing snow continues to cause severely reduced visibility throughout the corridor, prompting officials to discourage travel through the area.
TxDOT incident management indicates that severe travel impacts, detours, and active roadway treatments along this section are projected to remain in effect through July 30, 2027, as crews monitor and maintain corridor safety.
Commercial truck drivers and dispatchers are advised to plan alternative routes around FM 1327 and exercise extreme caution if operating in surrounding areas. We will update this report as TxDOT provides further status changes or lifts detours.
