FM-1626, TEXAS — Hazardous roadway conditions have triggered severe delays and active detours along both northbound and southbound FM-1626. The impacted corridor stretches from mile marker 0526 to mile marker 0522, between 0.97 miles north of RM-967 and 0.292 miles north of FM-2770. Black ice and heavy winter conditions have compromised road surfaces across both directions.
Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) crews are actively on site plowing the roadway and running patrol operations. In addition to widespread ice accumulation, blowing snow is causing significant visibility reductions throughout the corridor, requiring traffic to divert around the affected area.
TxDOT response began on November 6, 2026, at 2:05 a.m. While crews continue active winter weather maintenance, current transportation agency projections list an estimated operational clearance window extending through July 30, 2027, at 4:45 p.m.
Commercial truck drivers, dispatchers, and motorists are strongly advised to seek alternate routes, as travel along this stretch is discouraged due to black ice hazards. We will update this report as new information becomes available.
