US-183, TEXAS — Northbound and southbound lanes of US-183 are experiencing severe disruptions from 1.1 miles north of SH-21 to just west of Jollyville Road (mile markers 0538 to 0504). Hazardous black ice covers the roadway, and blowing snow is severely limiting driver visibility across the entire corridor.
TxDOT personnel are currently on scene actively patrolling and plowing the affected stretches. Due to the high severity of the roadway conditions, official detours have been established to route traffic around the impacted zone, resulting in significant delays.
TxDOT lists the estimated operational window for these severe winter conditions to persist through July 30, 2027, at 4:45 PM, though conditions remain subject to weather changes.
Motorists and commercial freight operators are strongly advised to delay travel or seek alternative routes while road conditions remain hazardous. We will update this report as more information becomes available.
