I-20, TEXAS — Interstate 20 travel lanes have been reduced to a single lane in both eastbound and westbound directions from 0.22 miles west of Loop 338 to 0.92 miles west of FM-1788. The restriction spans five miles between Mile Marker 120 and Mile Marker 125, causing significant traffic delays through the corridor.
TxDOT crews have implemented detours directing traffic to both eastbound and westbound frontage roads throughout the project limits. Motorists are advised to reduce speed and follow all posted directional signage guiding vehicles through the active work zone.
Work on the highway began on October 7, 2026, and the lane reductions are scheduled to remain in place until approximately December 7, 2026, at 7:00 PM.
Commercial truck drivers and dispatchers navigating through the area should anticipate substantial travel delays and consider alternate routes. We will update this report as conditions change or lanes reopen.
