EASTBOUND I-20, TEXAS — All eastbound mainlanes of Interstate 20 are closed to traffic between Mile Marker 469 and Mile Marker 471, spanning from approximately 1.1 miles west of SH-342 to 0.6 miles east of the interchange. The major closure began at 2:25 AM on Saturday, October 24, 2026.
Highway operations and emergency personnel have implemented an active detour to direct traffic off the mainlanes. All eastbound motorists are being routed onto the frontage road and must follow the posted detour signs around the blocked section.
TxDOT estimates that the closure and clearance operations will continue through approximately 8:45 AM on October 24, 2026, at which point the mainlanes are expected to reopen.
Truck drivers and fleet dispatchers moving through Dallas County should plan for localized delays along the frontage road detour or seek alternate east-west routes. We will update this report as soon as lanes reopen or additional details are confirmed.
