FM-969, TEXAS — Travel has been brought to a standstill along eastbound and westbound FM-969 between Mile Marker 0448 (0.064 miles east of Loop 111) and Mile Marker 0466 (3.069 miles west of FM-1704). TxDOT has assigned a maximum severity rating of 5/5 to the corridor due to heavy road ice, black ice, and hazardous conditions across all lanes.
Active detours are in place as TxDOT crews patrol the corridor and conduct snowplow operations. Low visibility caused by blowing snow is compounding the hazard, creating treacherous conditions for commercial trucks and passenger vehicles alike.
Emergency response and clearance operations initially began on November 6, 2026, at 2:05 a.m., with TxDOT estimating an extended operational and monitoring window lasting through July 30, 2027, at 4:45 p.m.
Dispatchers and commercial drivers are advised that travel is strongly discouraged throughout this sector, and alternate regional routes should be planned immediately. We will update this report as TxDOT releases further traffic condition updates.
