I-35, TEXAS — Northbound and southbound main lanes of Interstate 35 are closed between Mile Marker 254 and Mile Marker 273. The closure spans from approximately 1.96 miles south of FM-487 to just south of Business I-35L, shutting down through traffic across this stretch of the corridor.
Traffic management crews have implemented active detours to redirect commercial trucks and passenger vehicles off the main travel lanes. Significant backups are forming along detour routes as personnel manage the closure area.
TxDOT estimates the closure will remain in place with an expected end time of July 30, 2027, at approximately 5:15 PM.
Drivers and dispatchers are advised to plan alternative freight routes and allow for substantial extra travel time through the region. We will update this report as soon as new information becomes available.
