NORTH AND SOUTHBOUND I-35, TEXAS — Major highway disruptions are reported on Interstate 35, where all main lanes are completely closed in both north and southbound directions. The closure stretches from 1.452 miles north of SH-45 to 0.713 miles north of FS 1825, covering a 25-mile segment between mile markers 224 and 249 in Travis County.
Traffic management personnel and road crews are actively responding on site. Official detours have been implemented to redirect vehicular traffic around the blocked corridor, though severe delays are already impacting both directions of travel.
TxDOT records indicate the closure began on November 6, 2026, at 1:50 a.m. Transportation officials currently project the incident conditions and closures to persist until approximately September 30, 2027, at 4:45 p.m.
Motorists and commercial truck dispatchers should avoid the corridor and seek alternate regional routing to circumvent the shutdown. We will update this report as additional developments become available.
