FM 812, TEXAS — Both northbound and southbound lanes of FM 812 are experiencing severe travel disruptions from 2.465 miles west of FM 2430 to 0.138 miles east of US 183 (mile markers 0544 to 0538). Severe ice buildup on the roadway and diminished visibility caused by blowing snow have led to heavy delays and active detours across the entire segment.
Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) winter weather crews are actively patrolling the corridor and operating plowing and treatment equipment to address extensive black ice. Detours have been deployed to redirect traffic away from the most hazardous sections of the roadway.
The hazardous conditions began impacting traffic at 2:05 a.m. on November 6, 2026. TxDOT currently estimates ongoing roadway clearing and monitoring operations could extend through July 30, 2027, at 4:45 p.m., subject to ongoing weather and pavement assessments.
Commercial truck drivers and dispatchers are urged to exercise extreme caution, avoid non-essential travel along this stretch, and plan alternate routes around the corridor. We will update this report as TxDOT provides further updates or road conditions improve.
