FM 685, TEXAS — Significant travel disruptions and active detours are underway on both eastbound and westbound FM 685 from just north of SH 130 to south of US 79 (mile markers 424 to 422). TxDOT reports a maximum severity level along this stretch due to hazardous ice and snow accumulation across the roadway, bridges, and overpasses.
TxDOT road crews are actively patrolling the corridor, operating snowplows, and treating slick surfaces to clear accumulated ice. Traffic personnel have established detour routes around the most critical segments to manage flow and prevent blockages.
First reported on the morning of November 6, 2026, the high-severity advisory and related detours are currently estimated to impact travel through April 22, 2027, at 5:45 PM as maintenance operations and safety monitoring continue.
Drivers and commercial operators are advised to take alternate routes, reduce travel speeds, and exercise extreme caution when navigating bridges and elevated ramps in the area. We will update this report as TxDOT issues further roadway advisories.
