EASTBOUND AND WESTBOUND FM-969, TEXAS — Severe winter weather conditions have created hazardous travel across both directions of FM-969 from mile marker 0448 (0.064 miles east of Loop 111) to mile marker 0466 (3.069 miles west of FM-1704). Accumulated ice and snow on the roadway, bridges, and overpasses have resulted in maximum-severity disruptions and confirmed travel delays.
TxDOT crews are on scene actively patrolling the corridor and conducting plowing operations to clear the road surface. Official detours have been established, and transportation officials strongly urge all drivers to utilize alternate routes to avoid the impacted zone.
Clearance operations initially began on November 6, 2026, at approximately 9:44 a.m. TxDOT currently projects roadway mitigation and monitoring efforts will remain active through April 22, 2027, at 5:45 p.m., subject to ongoing weather conditions and surface safety evaluations.
Commercial truck drivers and commuters are advised to exercise extreme caution on all elevated structures, maintain safe following distances, and reroute where possible. We will update this report as TxDOT releases further advisories or road status changes.
