RM-620, TEXAS — Hazardous winter conditions have prompted maximum-severity travel disruptions on both northbound and southbound RM-620. Ice and snow accumulation on bridges, overpasses, and main roadway surfaces extends from 0.16 miles east of RM-2769 to 0.166 miles north of SH-71 (mile markers 542 through 524), leading to severe traffic delays and roadway detours.
Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) crews are actively patrolling and plowing the corridor to clear ice and treat slick elevated surfaces. Traffic management operations are underway, and official detours have been established to route traffic around the most hazardous stretches.
TxDOT incident management personnel estimate that winter maintenance operations and related advisories along this stretch could extend through 5:45 PM on April 22, 2027, depending on weather and road surface evaluations.
Motorists and commercial truck drivers are advised to seek alternate routes, reduce speeds, and exercise extreme caution on all elevated structures throughout the area. We will update this report as TxDOT releases further updates or clears the roadway.
