SH-45, TEXAS — Eastbound and westbound travel on SH-45 is facing major disruptions from RM-1826 to 0.37 miles north of FM-1626 (mile markers 0586 to 0582) due to hazardous winter roadway conditions. Heavy ice and snow have accumulated across the corridor, particularly on bridges and overpasses, leading to significant travel delays.
TxDOT road maintenance crews are actively patrolling the route, plowing snow, and treating icy pavement surfaces. Official detours have been implemented to divert commercial and passenger traffic away from the most hazardous sections of the highway.
Active weather response operations and route restrictions are currently scheduled to persist through April 22, 2027, at approximately 5:45 PM, pending evolving weather conditions and clearance progress.
Freight dispatchers and motorists are advised to avoid the corridor entirely and seek secondary routes until conditions improve. We will update this report as TxDOT provides further status updates and reopening information.
