SOUTHBOUND SH-6, TEXAS — The southbound State Highway 6 exit ramp to Midway Park is completely closed near Mile Marker 488, located just west of Loop 396. The closure blocks direct access from the main lanes toward Midway Park and adjacent local roadways.
TxDOT has implemented an active detour to route traffic around the closure. Drivers travelling southbound are instructed to bypass the ramp, continue to the Bosque Boulevard exit, and utilize the turnaround to reach their destination.
Crews initiated the closure on August 28, 2026, and operations at this location are currently scheduled to continue through December 31, 2026.
Commercial drivers and dispatchers routing through McLennan County should plan for alternate travel paths and slight travel time adjustments. We will update this report as further information becomes available.
