SOUTHBOUND I-35, TEXAS — All southbound main lanes of Interstate 35 are currently closed near FM 1626 at Mile Marker 215 following a major traffic incident reported early this morning at approximately 4:31 AM.
Emergency responders and maintenance crews are on site managing the closure. All southbound highway traffic is being routed off the main lanes and detoured onto the frontage road.
According to the Texas Department of Transportation, the closure is estimated to persist until roughly 7:30 AM while operations to clear the roadway continue.
Drivers and freight dispatchers should plan for travel delays through the corridor or seek alternate routes around the FM 1626 area. We will update this report as lanes reopen.
