SOUTHBOUND I-820, TEXAS — The southbound Interstate 820 exit ramp connecting to eastbound Interstate 20 is closed to all traffic near mile marker 34. The closure affects traffic from approximately a half-mile north of I-20 down to 649 feet north of the interchange, completely blocking ramp access.
Traffic management crews have implemented a full closure of the ramp for scheduled nighttime work. A marked detour is actively routing drivers around the closure point to access eastbound I-20.
The overnight restriction began at 9:00 PM on October 29, 2026, and is estimated to reopen by 6:00 AM on October 30, 2026, ahead of the morning commute.
Commercial truck drivers and local motorists should plan alternative routes or follow posted detour signs to prevent delays. We will update this report if road conditions change or early reopening occurs.
