SH-70, TEXAS — Multiple lanes are closed in both directions along State Highway 70 following a major traffic incident reported early Friday morning. The blockage spans between mile markers 338 and 342, specifically from 2.58 miles south of SH-153 to 1.71 miles north of FM-608.
Emergency responders and maintenance crews are on the scene managing traffic and working to clear the obstruction. No official detour has been established, leading to mounting delays for regional traffic approaching the scene.
TxDOT estimates clearance operations will continue through approximately 12:00 p.m. Travel times through the corridor will remain significantly impacted until the roadway is fully cleared.
Truck drivers and motorists are advised to reduce speed, stay alert for on-scene responders, or utilize alternate north-south corridors to avoid the bottleneck. We will update this report as soon as lanes reopen or additional details are confirmed.
