SOUTHBOUND I-35, TEXAS — A severe traffic incident has shut down southbound Interstate 35 between Mile Markers 234 and 235, located roughly a half-mile north of Loop 343 in Travis County. The major disruption was reported at approximately 3:32 AM and has resulted in complete lane blockages along this stretch of the corridor.
Emergency personnel and TxDOT clearance crews are on scene managing the closure and redirecting traffic. An official detour has been established to route southbound motorists around the affected area.
Transportation officials estimate the scene will be cleared and lanes reopened by approximately 6:15 AM. Heavy delays are expected to continue in the immediate vicinity until clearance operations conclude.
