SH-6, TEXAS — Both northbound and southbound travel lanes on SH-6 have been reduced to a single lane between 0.651 miles and 1.9 miles west of Loop 396, spanning mile markers 490 to 488. The restriction has created significant corridor delays with a maximum severity rating.
Traffic management crews have shifted both travel directions onto the northbound bridge to facilitate operations. Detour routes have been established to handle diverted traffic around the work zone.
TxDOT officials project the lane restriction and bridge shift will remain active through an estimated clearance date of December 31, 2026.
Motorists and dispatchers are strongly advised to utilize alternate routes and anticipate heavy delays when traveling through the area. We will update this report as new details become available.
