FM 1788 AT I-20, TEXAS — All northbound and southbound main lanes of FM 1788 are shut down at Interstate 20 near mile marker 330 due to bridge demolition. The roadway is fully closed spanning from 861 feet south of I-20 to directly north of the interchange.
TxDOT crews have closed the bridge structure completely to proceed with demolition operations. Active detours are in place, routing all through-traffic onto the adjacent frontage roads.
Due to the extensive nature of the construction project, the closure is projected to remain active through September 17, 2027, at 5:00 PM. Significant travel delays are anticipated for freight and local traffic moving through this corridor.
Drivers and fleet dispatchers are strongly urged to utilize alternate routes to avoid bottlenecks at the frontage road intersections. We will update this report as further updates become available.
