UPDATE: ROAD REOPENED - October 29, 2026 1:25 AM UTC Westbound I-10 has reopened to traffic between US-67 and US-385. The previous lane closures and detour have ended.
WESTBOUND I-10, TEXAS — A severe traffic incident on westbound Interstate 10 has reduced traffic to a single lane between Mile Marker 268 and Mile Marker 264, west of US-67. Two-way traffic control is in place, and drivers approaching the area should be prepared for sudden stops and significant travel delays.
TxDOT and emergency response personnel are actively managing the scene. Westbound traffic is currently being diverted off I-10 at the RM 2886 off-ramp and routed back onto the interstate using the adjacent on-ramp to bypass the blockage.
Crews estimate the lane restrictions and detour will remain in place until approximately 8:30 PM, though timeline adjustments may occur depending on clearance operations.
Commercial operators and motorists are urged to reduce speeds, follow traffic control signage, and give emergency workers ample clearance. We will update this report as more information becomes available.
