EASTBOUND I-20, TEXAS — A severe traffic incident has forced the complete closure of the eastbound Interstate 20 frontage road near RM 2871 at Mile Marker 427. The closure extends from just west of RM 2871 to just east of the intersection. While all eastbound I-20 main lanes remain open, frontage road travel is blocked.
Emergency crews and traffic management personnel are actively working at the scene. Traffic is being rerouted, and motorists are instructed to follow the marked detour to bypass the closure.
TxDOT estimates that clearance operations will continue into the evening, with the closure projected to lift by approximately 8:00 PM.
