I-35, TEXAS — Frontage road lane closures are in effect along northbound and southbound Interstate 35 between Mile Markers 160 and 161, extending from the UPRR crossing to Salado Creek. Crews have closed the inside left lane of the northbound frontage road from Exit 160 to Splashtown Drive, as well as sections of the southbound frontage road at Hormel Drive, to conduct drill shaft and column construction, waterline removal, and utility exploration. All I-35 main lanes remain completely open.
Traffic management crews have implemented active detours through the work zone. Northbound frontage road drivers must use the outside lane within the project limits, while southbound motorists must utilize the inside lane, with local businesses accessible via alternate entrances. In addition, alternating nighttime lane closures are scheduled at Frost Bank Center Drive between 9:00 PM and 5:00 AM.
The construction operations and frontage road restrictions are scheduled to remain in place through approximately 5:00 AM on November 2, 2026.
Truck drivers, dispatchers, and local motorists traveling through this corridor should anticipate local delays and follow all posted detour signage. We will update this report as TxDOT releases additional clearance information.
