EASTBOUND SH 71, TEXAS — All main lanes on eastbound State Highway 71 are completely closed between Greenwood Drive and Albert Brown Drive following a major traffic accident. The incident is situated roughly four miles east of State Highway 130 near mile marker 0588.
Emergency responders and maintenance crews are on the scene, and a designated detour has been implemented to guide vehicles around the blockage. All main travel lanes remain shut down to accommodate emergency operations and vehicle clearance.
TxDOT officials project that clearance operations will continue until approximately 9:00 AM. Significant morning travel delays are actively affecting the corridor.
Motorists and commercial truck drivers are urged to seek alternate routes to bypass the scene and allow extra travel time through Travis County. We will update this report as more details become available.
