FM-490, TEXAS — Both eastbound and westbound lanes of FM-490 are completely closed between I-69E and FM-2099, spanning from mile marker 0544 to mile marker 0548. The full roadway shutdown extends from 222 feet east of I-69E to 16 feet east of FM-2099 due to active roadway construction.
Work crews are operating on-site, and TxDOT reports no official detour is currently established. Drivers moving through the corridor should anticipate heavy traffic congestion and notable delays throughout the closure zone.
This daytime closure began at 7:00 a.m. on November 4, 2026, and is projected to remain in place until approximately 7:00 p.m. the same evening. Lanes are expected to reopen following the conclusion of daytime work.
Commercial truck drivers and dispatchers should seek alternate east-west routes to circumvent the closure area and minimize schedule disruptions. We will update this report as further updates are released by transportation officials.
