FM 2008, TEXAS — Both northbound and southbound lanes of FM 2008 are completely closed from 169 feet south of FM 651 to 280 feet north of US 380. The closure spans from mile marker 228 to mile marker 238, shutting down all traffic along this 10-mile corridor due to severe roadway damage.
Transportation crews have shut down the roadway to all traffic, and no official detour has been designated. Repair teams are managing the closure points at both ends to keep vehicles off the damaged pavement.
According to official TxDOT reports, the extended closure began on September 1, 2026, and is currently estimated to remain in place through September 4, 2028, at 12:00 PM while long-term repairs are conducted.
Commercial truck drivers and local motorists should utilize regional alternate routes and adjust dispatch schedules accordingly to avoid the blocked segment. We will update this report as further updates or schedule adjustments are released by TxDOT.
