EASTBOUND I-635, TEXAS — A severe traffic incident on eastbound Interstate 635 has forced major roadway restrictions from just east of State Highway 289 extending one mile eastward. The incident spans between Mile Marker 22 and Mile Marker 21, reducing all traffic flow down to a single travel lane.
TxDOT crews and emergency personnel have implemented two-way traffic control through the restricted corridor, and an active detour is in place. Motorists and commercial operators navigating the area are instructed to reduce speed and be prepared for sudden stops.
Significant delays are impacting the corridor. Roadway clearance operations and traffic management measures are currently estimated to remain active until approximately 9:30 a.m.
Commercial dispatchers and motorists are advised to bypass the north Dallas loop using alternate east-west routes to prevent compounding congestion. We will update this report as lane reopenings are confirmed by highway officials.
