WESTBOUND LOOP 396, TEXAS — All westbound lanes on Loop 396 (Valley Mills Drive) are closed to traffic from just west of Interstate 35 to Business US-77L at mile marker 0568. The full closure spans the roadway between the traffic circle and the southbound frontage road, halting normal westbound travel.
Traffic management teams have established active detours to redirect commercial vehicles and passenger traffic around the affected corridor. Motorists are instructed to utilize Business US-77 (BU 77) or US 77 as primary alternate routes to bypass the shutdown.
The lane closures took effect on August 30, 2026, with TxDOT indicating an estimated resolution window extending through late December 2026. Significant delays are expected throughout the duration of this long-term closure.
