EASTBOUND I-20, TEXAS — All eastbound main lanes of Interstate 20 are completely closed between Mile Marker 24 and Mile Marker 25, roughly two miles east of FM-2903, following a major commercial vehicle crash. The complete shutdown is the result of an overturned semi-truck blocking the roadway.
Emergency crews and traffic management personnel have instituted an active detour routing eastbound motorists off the main lanes and through an adjacent rest area. Drivers are urged to navigate the temporary bypass at a safe, reduced speed.
TxDOT officials estimate recovery and cleanup operations will continue through approximately 4:00 PM as heavy-duty wreckers work to upright and remove the tractor-trailer.
Motorists and commercial freight dispatchers should plan for delays or consider alternate regional routes to bypass the scene. We will update this report as further official information becomes available.
