NORTH AND SOUTHBOUND RM 3238, TEXAS — Hazardous winter weather has severely impacted travel along both north and southbound lanes of RM-3238 from 0.148 miles west of SH-71 to 0.198 miles west of RM-12 (mile markers 0522 to 0514). Ice and snow accumulation on bridges, overpasses, and the main roadway has resulted in major delays and active detours across the corridor.
Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) crews are actively patrolling the route and conducting snow-plowing operations to treat the icy surfaces. Officials advise all motorists that detours are in effect and that alternate routes must be utilized to bypass the affected stretch.
The hazardous conditions were first reported on the morning of November 6, 2026. TxDOT has placed the corridor under an extended advisory window, with ongoing weather response operations projected through 5:45 p.m. on April 22, 2027.
Commercial truck drivers and dispatchers should reroute freight around RM-3238 and monitor regional winter road status updates before dispatching through the area. We will update this report as TxDOT provides new information or conditions improve.
