WESTBOUND US 290, TEXAS — The westbound US-290 mainlane exit ramp to William Cannon Drive is fully closed to traffic due to active road construction and punchlist safety work. The closure is located roughly three-quarters of a mile east of SH-71 near mile marker 570.
Transportation crews have shut down the ramp and established marked detour routes for westbound motorists. Traffic management operations are underway, and drivers should expect delays when approaching the work zone during closure hours.
The nighttime operations run nightly from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. on weekdays, and from 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. on Friday night. The scheduled multi-night work window is estimated to fully conclude by 7:00 a.m. on November 7, 2026.
Motorists and commercial truck drivers are advised to plan alternate routes ahead of time and exercise caution around highway workers. We will update this report if TxDOT adjusts the schedule or announces early clearance.
