SOUTHBOUND US 69, TEXAS — All main lanes on US 69 are fully closed near SH 73, between Mile Markers 0540 and 0542, due to scheduled overhead bridge construction. The closure affects traffic in both directions, completely halting highway travel through the interchange.
Crews are on-site placing concrete bridge rail over the roadway and removing overhang forms. Marked detours are in effect: southbound traffic is being routed via SH 73 Westbound to Spur 215 (Savannah Avenue) to U-turn back onto SH 73 Eastbound toward US 69 Southbound, while northbound traffic is directed to SH 87 Eastbound, SH 347 Northbound, and SH 73 Westbound.
The overnight closure began at 8:00 PM on November 4, 2026, and is scheduled to clear by 4:00 AM on November 5, 2026. TxDOT notes all work is weather permitting and subject to schedule adjustments.
Motorists and commercial truck drivers are urged to exercise caution, follow posted detour signage, and expect significant travel delays. We will update this report as additional information becomes available.
