US-62, TEXAS — A major traffic incident has blocked travel along both eastbound and westbound lanes of US-62 north of FM-2066, near mile marker 290. The high-severity event has resulted in complete mainline lane closures across the corridor.
Traffic management personnel have implemented an active detour, redirecting all impacted motorists onto the frontage road. Emergency personnel and clearance crews remain on the scene managing the closure.
The Texas Department of Transportation reports that recovery operations are in progress, with lanes currently estimated to reopen around 5:00 PM today.
Drivers and commercial dispatchers are advised to plan extra travel time or seek alternate routes around the area to avoid substantial delays. We will update this report as new information becomes available.
