EASTBOUND I-40, TEXAS — All main lanes of eastbound Interstate 40 are closed near FM-1912 at Mile Marker 81 following a major traffic incident reported late Monday morning.
Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) crews and emergency personnel are managing the scene. All eastbound traffic is currently being detoured off the main lanes and onto the adjacent frontage road.
TxDOT has classified the incident at maximum severity and currently projects an estimated clearance time of 5:30 PM.
Motorists and freight dispatchers should plan for reduced speeds and localized congestion along the service road, or utilize alternate east-west routes. We will update this report as more details become available.
