UPDATE: ROAD REOPENED - October 26, 2026 11:25 AM UTC Spur 17 has reopened in both directions between US-385 and US-87 following an earlier closure due to water over the roadway.
SPUR 17, TEXAS — Spur 17 is closed to all traffic in both northbound and southbound directions between US-385 and US-87, spanning mile markers 258 through 260. The total closure was initiated early Monday morning after water covered the roadway, creating hazardous driving conditions.
TxDOT crews have shut down the stretch and implemented an active detour route around the flooded area. Barricades and warning signs are stationed at access points directing traffic away from the roadway.
Clearance crews estimate the closure will remain in place until approximately 4:00 PM on October 26, 2026, though reopening will depend on how quickly floodwaters recede and roadway stability can be inspected.
Commercial truck drivers and dispatchers are advised to plan alternate routes and avoid navigating around posted barricades. We will update this report as soon as more information becomes available.
