SOUTHBOUND I-820, TEXAS — The Texas Department of Transportation has closed the southbound Interstate 820 exit ramps connecting to both eastbound and westbound Interstate 20 near mile marker 34. The full ramp closures eliminate direct access from southbound I-820 onto I-20 just north of the interchange.
Traffic management personnel have posted detour signage to direct traffic around the closure. While mainline highway lanes remain open without significant delays, drivers attempting to transition between the two corridors must follow the designated detour routes.
Crews initiated the overnight closure at 9:00 PM on Tuesday, November 4, 2026, with work scheduled to wrap up by 6:00 AM on Wednesday, November 5, 2026. The interchange ramps are expected to reopen prior to the morning rush hour.
