SH-16, TEXAS — A traffic crash at the railroad underpass on State Highway 16 has reduced the roadway to a single lane just north of US-190. The blockage affects both northbound and southbound lanes near mile marker 0414, extending from 0.31 to 0.45 miles north of the junction.
Emergency crews have implemented two-way traffic control to alternate vehicles through the single open travel lane. With no detour established, heavy delays are building in both directions and motorists must be prepared to come to a complete stop.
TxDOT incident management personnel estimate that clearance operations and traffic restrictions will remain in place until approximately 12:00 PM on November 3, 2026.
Truck drivers and local commuters should exercise extreme caution approaching the underpass, reduce speed, and seek alternate routes to bypass the bottleneck. We will update this report as additional lane status changes are confirmed.
