LOOP 343, TEXAS — Hazardous winter conditions have resulted in maximum-severity travel impacts on Loop 343 in both northbound and southbound directions. The disruption spans from just north of US-290 to east of Interstate 35, between mile markers 564 and 568, where ice and snow have coated the roadway, bridges, and overpasses.
TxDOT crews are actively monitoring the corridor, conducting plowing operations, and treating icy stretches. Due to hazardous bridge conditions, detours have been implemented and motorists are being directed to use alternate routes.
The winter weather alert took effect on November 6, 2026, at 9:44 AM, with continuous operations and hazardous condition advisories projected to remain in place through April 22, 2027, at 5:45 PM.
Drivers and freight dispatchers are urged to avoid the corridor, verify detour routes in advance, and reduce speeds on elevated structures. We will update this report as TxDOT releases further updates.
