RM-2244, TEXAS — Travel is strongly discouraged along RM-2244 in both north and southbound directions due to severe icy conditions between 1.583 miles east of Walsh Tarlton Lane and 0.156 miles east of SH-71. The hazardous corridor spans from mile marker 0544 to mile marker 0534, resulting in heavy delays and active route diversions.
TxDOT crews and traffic management personnel are on scene implementing official detours to steer vehicles away from the slick roadway. Maintenance teams continue working to monitor the corridor and treat the affected stretches of pavement.
Due to the severity of the road conditions, significant disruptions and detours are expected to persist while crews address the icing. Motorists should anticipate extended clearance times and long travel delays.
Commercial truck drivers and dispatchers are advised to plan alternate routes immediately and avoid navigating RM-2244 until conditions improve. We will update this report as TxDOT provides further clearance and roadway status updates.
