LOOP 111, TEXAS — Severe traffic impacts and active detours are underway across both Eastbound and Westbound Loop 111 (SL0111) from 0.37 miles south of 12th Street to 0.567 miles east of Interstate 35. The hazardous conditions span between mile markers 0440 and 0438, resulting in significant travel delays due to widespread roadway ice.
Transportation officials have classified the situation at maximum severity and are discouraging all non-essential travel through the area. Maintenance and response personnel are actively managing detours to redirect motorists away from the impassable sections while response efforts continue.
TxDOT indicates that closure conditions and traffic detours along this stretch of Loop 111 are estimated to remain in place through August 25, 2027, at approximately 4:30 PM.
Motorists and commercial operators are advised to avoid the corridor completely, plan alternate routes, and exercise extreme caution. We will update this report as soon as TxDOT releases further details or changes to roadway accessibility.
