LOOP 1, TEXAS — Hazardous winter conditions have triggered major travel disruptions along Loop 1 in Travis County. The corridor between 2.378 miles south of Slaughter Lane and 2.512 miles south of SH-45 (mile markers 448 to 424) is experiencing severe impacts, with snow and ice accumulating across mainlanes, bridges, and overpasses, prompting active detours.
Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) winter response units are on scene, patrolling the corridor and actively plowing the roadway. Traffic management officials have established detours and are strongly urging drivers to utilize alternate routes while maintenance operations continue.
TxDOT currently lists an estimated clearance window extending through April 22, 2027, at 5:45 PM, subject to ongoing weather monitoring and roadway treatment.
Truck drivers and motorists should anticipate significant delays, reduce speeds, and avoid elevated structures whenever possible. We will update this report as conditions change or lanes reopen.
