SOUTHBOUND US 87, TEXAS — A traffic incident has forced the closure of the right lane on southbound US-87 between mile markers 132 and 130, roughly five to six miles north of FM-1719. The lane restriction was reported at approximately 7:56 AM, significantly reducing capacity for southbound traffic.
Emergency response and maintenance crews are on-site actively managing traffic flow through the remaining open lane. While no formal detour has been designated, passing motorists are advised that localized congestion is building behind the work zone.
According to the Texas Department of Transportation, clearance operations are expected to continue through approximately 12:00 PM.
Commercial truck drivers and commuters are urged to reduce speed, remain alert for response personnel, and plan for travel delays through the area. We will update this report as additional information becomes available.
