EASTBOUND I-40, TEXAS — A severe traffic incident has forced the closure of the right lane on eastbound Interstate 40 between mile markers 154 and 155, located approximately 1.5 miles east of FM-453. Travel lanes have been reduced to a single lane through the area.
Emergency personnel and highway maintenance crews are on the scene managing traffic flow. An active detour has been established to guide motorists around the affected section of the interstate.
TxDOT estimates clearance and recovery operations will continue through approximately 7:00 AM on November 2, 2026.
Commercial truck drivers and dispatchers should account for delays along this freight corridor, follow designated detour routes, or seek alternate eastbound paths. We will update this report as more information becomes available.
